George Hall will close the school year with a celebration of US History and Patriotism! We will hold our annual Writing Fair May 11-13 from 8:30-2:30 each day. Please come out and join us for this wonderful celebration!

George Hall was a circus on February 15! Circus of the Kids spent the Day at Hall entertaining our kids and teaching them to juggle. We also held a Family Math and Literacy Night with a circus theme. We ended the day with dinner for our students and parents! Click here to see video of the day!

After 30 years of service to the Mobile County Public School System, Ms. Alfreda Williams retired in January. The faculty and staff of Hall celebrated her departure with her by holding a retirement party on January 31. We wish her the best, but hope that she knows that her presence at Hall will be dearly missed!

George Hall received a donation of $1,000 from Roberts Brothers and the Mobile Area Home Builders Association . Stephanie Mitchell, Melissa Mitchell, and Olivia Ellis accepted the donation in November.

George Hall Elementary School was named one of three elementary schools in the nation to hold the title of Intel School of Distinction in the area of mathematics. In order for Intel to choose a school for this prestigious award, the school has to show a commitment to student achievement, innovation instruction, collaboration with other professionals for the benefit of student learning, and exposing students to real life problem solving situations.

Teachers and staff arrived to school on September 8 to find a breakfast feast provided to them by one of our wonderful parents, Angela Pompey! We would like to thank her from the bottom of our hearts! What a wonderful way to begin a work day!

Students at George Hall honored local veterans at an assembly held on May 14, 2010. Honor Flight South Alabama took part in the program. Also in attendance were veterans from various wars who were recognized for their service to our country!

Hall students made great use of the library this year! We read 50,622 books; we took 38,202 tests; we read 78,751,868 words!
|
|
|
George Hall students participated in the Souper Bowl of Caring Project to benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Hall students brought in over 475 canned goods to be donated on Super Bowl Weekend. The classes that contributed the most canned goods were Mrs. Singleton, Mrs. Seltzer, and Ms. Ederer. These classes were treated to an ice cream and pizza party! We are proud of all of our students for doing their part to provide for others who are in need!

Alabama Power brings Santa to town! George Hall celebrated Christmas on December 17 with Operation Santa! Mr. and Mrs. Claus, along with a few elves from Alabama Power, visited with the students and brought sweet treats!
